Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail, a central Florida haunted attraction celebrating their 9th Halloween season, has announced multiple initiatives to donate to the organization Give Kids The World. This spooky 501(c)3 organization, commonly known for making donations to multiple charities, has added GKTW to their family of altruistic causes.
During the month of October, all copies of “Sir Henry’s Haunted Tales” and “Sir Henry: Love’s Revenge” - whether sold on Amazon or at the onsite gift shop - will see a dollar from each sold copy donated to GKTW. Another special fund-raising event will take place on the Saturday of Spooky Empire, a horror convention in Orlando Florida on October 22nd.
The Sir Henry’s book series authors Amanda Rosenblatt and Brad Acevedo will be doing a morning signing at Spooky Empire, and 100% of the proceeds made from books sold at the GKTW booth this day will be given to the organization. Limited quantities will be available - stay tuned to Sir Henry’s and GKTW social media channels for more information on this event!
"As a new parent myself, I can't imagine the hardship that these families go through," says Zach Glaros, owner of Sir Henry's Haunted Trail. "There was no hesitation, between myself and the book authors, on making this charity partnership decision."
Sir Henry’s boasts three trails/houses, two escape games, laser tag, axe throwing, and more. This haunted theme park is family friendly, with parental guidance suggested for those under the age of 13. Tickets start at $27, with front of the line tickets starting at $37, and upcharge experiences (laser tag, escape rooms and axe throwing) costing $5 per person, per game.
The event will be open during October weekends, as well as the first Friday and Saturday of November. Hours of operation range from 7:30PM to 11PM, to 7:30PM to 9:30PM, depending on the night and heavy weather conditions.
General admission tickets for entry are only available online for advanced purchase before visiting the event, with time blocks for fans to visit at designated times to avoid overcrowding. A portion of each ticket sale is already being donated to the organization Folds of Honor.
Merchandise available in the brand new, expanded gift shop will feature shirts with this year’s date and houses to commemorate the season, plus candles, hats, magnets, and much more. Fans can purchase tickets to the common area games and the escape rooms at this gift shop counter, as well as upgrade to front-of-the-line “express” passes.
OFFERINGS: Included with general admission is free parking, three trails (one trip per trail), enjoying the main area with character encounters, and a centerpiece show. Port-o-potty restrooms and handwashing stations provided outside the gate for guests.
Trail # 1: “Headless” - In a small town, there exists the legend of General Hanover's Treasure. The general was famous for his brutality during the Revolutionary War, slaying his victims and taking a piece of their spine to fashion into a whip and stowing away whatever valuables he found on them. After meeting his end with a beheading by a cannonball, rumors circulated about where he hid his stolen riches but it was never discovered. Now, many years later, a massive manhunt was brought together to find this treasure once and for all. But when some villagers got too close to finding it, the headless ghost of General Hanover began to appear in the graveyard, mounted on a tall dark horse. Warding off all those who sought his treasure and decapitating those that crossed his path. Will you dare to face the horseman for his treasure? Or will you too become headless?
Trail # 2: “Final Cut” - Rising silent era starlet Joan Parker has purchased herself a mansion with a dark history. The former resident was an actress who after years and years of failed attempts to reach fame, killed herself in the home. At first glance the mansion was bare and empty, except for a large statue in the cellar. Strange things began to happen in the few weeks of living in her new home, noises coming from nowhere, objects disappearing and reappearing, a feeling of constantly being watched, and the statue strangely seeming to come alive. Now, you are invited to Joan's Movie Premiere Party. But beware to accept this invitation for the entity of the dead actress has overcome Joan to wreak havoc on her party. Will you fall victim to its ghostly possession?
Trail # 3: “Rapture of the Deep” - The fishing town of Portsmouth's successful market has been legendary for as long as anyone can remember. Unbeknown to outsiders, over a century ago the town made a deal with a Sea Witch to sacrifice a human life to her sea creature every year in exchange for a lucrative harvest and favorable seas. Unfortunately, due to Captain Jonah's return from the dead, the townsfolk missed the day of the sacrifice and now the Sea Witch has unleashed her wrath. Her sea creature has been released along with its spawn and together they are swallowing Portsmouth brick by brick. Will you join the townsfolk at the bottom of the ocean? Or will you escape the clutches of the Kraken?
Upcharges: Light food offerings, merchandising, escape rooms, laser tag and axe throwing. “Bloody Headlines” is one of the featured escape rooms. Plot: A killer is on the loose in town. But a local newspaper boy, Billy Boy, is determined to solve the mystery of the killer. But the boy has vanished and the mystery is still unsolved. Use clues in the room to finish solving the case and finish the newspaper article to publish the paper to reveal the killer.
RECOMMENDATIONS/SAFETY/ACCOMMODATIONS:
Some additional draws of Sir Henry’s are not only the convenient location right off of I-4, but also free parking and accommodating staff. There is no bag policy, but the staff at Sir Henry’s ask that you please not bring any concealed weapons, that there be no filming/lighting/photography on the trails, and that you please keep your smoking outside of the main guest area (past the entry gate on the parking lot side).
Wheelchair-using fans will be provided assistance coming through the trail. The event is outdoors, so wearing closed toe comfortable shoes and bringing an umbrella or poncho will provide a better experience. Those sensitive to strobe lights or have sensitivities to artificial fog should speak to guest services before attending the event. Adult supervision for those under 13 is advised and the event may be too intense for such young individuals.
Please do not visit Sir Henry’s if you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are having any COVID-19 symptoms, as well as any cold or flu symptoms. We do not tolerate harassment of our scare actors and staff, or allow consuming alcoholic beverages on property.
